So yesterday I was having a session with a life coaching client and one of the things we are working on is having him accomplish one of his goals of running an 8 minute mile. I thought it would be a great idea to do a run together so I can push him to his MAX. We did a run together over the phone and on this run I discovered that I was able to run a 6 minute mile, which really got me thinking on how I can push my limits even further. I started to think about registering for a race but I’ve registered for a few endurance races in the past and for some reason I would always fail because of injury. Well, I decided that this time was going to be different and after doing about 2 minutes of research I decided to run one of the hardest races on earth an Ironman. An Ironman consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 156 mile bike ride, and then a 24 mile run! CRAZY! Well, I’m not doing an Ironman, I’m doing a half iron man and its on December 13 in Florida. This is going to be the first step in my actually completing a full Ironman.

I’ve learned over the years that in order to be the best version of yourself you have to hire the right people. Just like you would be hiring me to be your life coach I needed to hire a trainer to train me for my half Ironman. So I teamed up with Phillip at Maun Endurance Team to help me professionally train for my race December 13!

The lesson here for me is to learn how to push myself to my absolute limit and see what I am capable of, because challenges like this are all mental. I am living my best life and I am not going to let any untapped potential in my life go to waste.
