REFLECTIONS FROM A LIFE COACH

Last year was my first full 12 month calendar year as a certified life coach. I had big goals for my business in 2021 and even though I didn’t reach them I had a lot of groundbreaking realizations along the way. (I’ll tell you more about these realizations in the next blog post).

Even Though I didn’t reach my sales target this year I believe setting these goals and writing them down was crucial to my success because as long as you’re making progress that’s all that really matters. You see, that’s what it’s really all about, learning through experience. You can read all the personal growth and self-development books in the world but if you don’t take action it’s useless knowledge going to waste. I took a small risk starting this new business but the lessons I’ve learned during this journey have been influential to my own growth. Becoming a life coach was one of the greatest things to ever happen to me and my future. I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to continue to change lives and see my own life be positively impacted along the way.

My goal for 2022: increase sales by 100% – how am I going to do that? Increase my actions by 100%.

Allow me to take you back in time… I started my life coaching business in May of 2020 during the thick of the pandemic. It was a spontaneous decision but I figured what was the worst thing that could happen? I fail. Ok. The first step was to go to a life coaching school and get certified, I willingly paid around $4,000 to learn how to be an impactful coach and become certified under the proper guidance and teachers. I had no idea what my business model was going to be or if I was even going to be successful but the only way I’d find out was if I tried (learn through experience remember?). I knew very little about the coaching industry and didn’t even have someone to look up to as a role model for what I wanted my business to look like. My only mission was to bring value to other people’s lives. The belief that if I brought enough value to the market place I would bring in enough money to pay my monthly expenses was a small goal, but this alone was worth it to me. In life, we are compensated not based on what we do, but on the value, we bring to the marketplace (relative to supply and demand). Stop and think about the value that you bring to the economy or your workplace.

Do you believe that the value you are bringing to other people’s lives or your business/workplace is worth what they are paying you?

What value are you bringing to the world? Are you easily replaceable by someone else or technology/artificial intelligence? Do you solve problems or is there technology that can do what you do for cheaper? We must always know our place in the world, our true value.

This is why I am writing this blog post. I want the reader to understand that if you start to focus your time and energy on how you are going to bring value to other people’s lives instead of what you’re going to gain you will end up being compensated handsomely. I have clients that pay for my coaching services and resign time and time again because of the value that they are getting from these sessions and the accountability they feel along with my guidance is worth more than the money they pay.

Think of your strengths and get clear on the value you bring to the world. Whether you are a great mother, caretaker, realtor, insurance salesman, doctor, lawyer, or musician, focus on the value that you are bringing to the world and let the universe pay you what you deserve.

Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read this blog post. These blog posts are insightful looks into my mind and how I am conquering life and I hope you get some value from reading them.
